Home for Youth in Crisis Opens

The Open Hands Foundation is grateful to announce the opening of a home for youth in crisis.  The home, located at 3010 West 78th Street in Chanhassen, will meet the emergency needs of youth in crisis between the ages of 10 and 17.  This shelter is a partnership between The Bridge for Youth, The Open Hands Foundation, and Westwood Community Church.

Whether it's family conflict, personal struggles or just needing to let off steam, the home will offer a safe place to stay and talk with professionals who are here to help.  The Bridge is a safe and nurturing place to decompress and talk openly with absolutely no judgment.

If you know of a youth between the ages of 10-17 years old in crisis or in need of shelter or counseling , please text the crisis hotline: 612-400-SAFE (7233) or call 612-377-8800.

The Emergency Shelter program provides youth:

  • Safe and comfortable shelter for overnight or short term stays
  • Walk in and ongoing crisis counseling
  • Youth and family support team meetings
  • All services are free for youth and families
