Bob Chatmas Appointed New Executive Director

Bob Chatmaswas recently hired as Executive Director for Open Hands Foundation, the nonprofit organization founded by Westwood Community Church to meet critical needs of vulnerable people in our community. Prior to being named as Executive Director, Bob worked as the Chief Operating Officer for Second Harvest Heartland. He holds a Masters in Non-Profit Management from Hamline University.

In his new role, Bob will be developing a long-term strategy to meet needs within our area. “There are many unmet needs today, across all segments of society. Open Hands Foundation operates as the hands and feet of Christ, going out into our community bringing relief to those in need,” Bob said.

Open Hands Foundation runs Hope House, the crisis shelter for youth located on Westwood Chanhassen’s campus. On any given night as many as nine young people are homeless in our own southwest metro community. This 6-bed youth shelter for 10-17 year-olds serves up to 450 students annually.
